Events and Activities

Memberships allow the PIA to sponsor many activities throughout the summer which benefit people of all ages. From weekly events including Move Night, Game Night, Make Your Own Sundaes, and BINGO to annual events such as the Craft Fair, Chowder Cook-Off, Cruise Night, Halloween Pot Luck and Game Dinner.

PIA Hall and Property

Not only does your membership support the hosting of events sponsored by the PIA it also provides funding for maintaining and improvements to the PIA building itself and PIA property. The PIA hall is used not only for events sponsored by the PIA but events for other island non-profits as well including the Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Fireman’s Fair and the Homestead Association’s Annual Ham and Bean Supper.

Prudence Youth Organization (PYO)

The PIA supports the Prudence Youth Organization. Children of PIA members can become part of the PYO. This group not only gives children starting age 10 the opportunity to hang out and play with other island kids but also allows them to hold meetings and work together toward common goals. The PYO manages the Snack Shack which sells food at PIA events. This year the PYO formed their own Prudence Island wiffleball league.

Member Benefits

In addition to supporting the community there are added benefits to being a PIA member. For example members pay a reduced rate for BINGO, are eligible to attend the Members Only Cruise and can rent the PIA for their own events. See a full list of benefits below.

Membership Dues

PIA memberships are renewed yearly and follow the calendar year. While many consider the summer to be time to attend PIA events and renew PIA memberships, they should be renewed in January. It is very helpful to our organization for our members to renew early in the calendar year. This allows us to better budget for off-season improvements to the hall and how much we can spend on summer events before the season arrives.

We greatly appreciate all of our members and when you sign up for a membership you will receive a free calendar in the mail.

Individual Memberships are $15 a year. Family Memberships are $25 a year.
A Family membership is 2 adults  over 18 and their children under 18 years of age.
An Individual membership is 1 person 18 years old or older.
